... travels to teach around the world over 25 weekends a year to share her passion for vintage swing dancing with others. Among many of her accomplishments, Carla has choreographed for Fox's hit T.V. show, "So You Think You Can Dance" season 6 creating a routine for contestants Ryan & Ellenore. On other occasions she has worked with great artists such as Aretha Franklin, Jeff Tyzik, B.B. King, Erich Kunzel, Nell Carter and Rita Moreno. She is the 2010 National Jitterbug Classic Champion, 2010 Underground Jitterbug Champion, 2008 Camp Jitterbug Champion, 2008 Canadian Swing Dance Champion & 2008 & 2009 International Lindy Hop Champion and has won many other competitions.

At the same time she continues to teach locally. Carla has a down to earth teaching approach, but still takes learning seriously and focuses heavily on quality of movement, partner connection, musicality, and most importantly, enjoying the dance! She thinks everyone should learn to dance as it enriches the world & brings people together. With each dance you have a chance to connect to the music, your self, and your partner and create & improvise & shine.

Why does Carla love Lindy Hop? It's the music and the fiery, yet playful passion in the dance, the juxtaposition of athleticism dand elegance that can be found within a 3 minute dance.

... has been a student of Tommy Blacharz in Montpellier for several years where he is part of the troupe Swingjammerz. Being a Jazz addict, he passes on his enthusiasm to the students in his classes. Due to his subtle sense of pedagogy he teaches the basic fundamentals of Lindy Hop and Charleston in an unparalleled simple and understandable manner. His instruction is based on the principles of Lead&Follow and the "Boom Shaka" that he adopted from Dax Hock & Max Pitruzzella. His main goal is to enjoy dancing and to share his passion.

Olivier won 2nd place in the Solo Charleston Competition at the European Swing Competition. He's got a Charleston project going in which he films people dancing Charleston in front of sightseeing attractions. Have a look at the films from Japan, Stockholm, New York or Herrang!

Although dancing has been a part of Maria's life since she took her first steps, it was through streetdance that her passion for dancing really kicked off. Immersing herself with all sorts of dance styles, it was not until 2004 she found her holy grail: the Lindy Hop! Maria is one of the founding members of  the Cambridge Lindy Hoppers and her life has been centered around running the scene, teaching and performing in Cambridge, in between going to as many international dance camps as she can. On the dance floor Maria is bouncing ball of energy and is also notoriously known to prefer to spend more time in the air than on the ground.

At STIR IT! 11 she will be co-teaching Lindy Hop with Gérald Bianchi.
