... says: I was a complete non-dancer. But on November 8th, 1996, I discovered big band swing dancing thanks to the movie Swing Kids. It fascinated me and it changed my life completely. My grilfriend and I danced until four a.m. in the morning that night (if you could call it dancing - I had a slow start). This went on every night for three weeks, when we finally went to our first swing dance party. Eventually I moved up from 6-count/Jitterbug/East Coast and turned to my true love in life, the Lindy Hop. When I moved out of my house in Colorado, our dancing had worn out a circle on the hardwood floors in the living room. Since then, I have been dancing practically every night of the week. Some call it an obsessive-compulsive disorder, but I can't imagine life without it. |

... completed her professional dance-education in Zurich in July 2002, including Modern dance, Jazz dance, Ballet, Flamenco and more. She has been teaching in Switzerland and also internationally for several years, mainly Lindy Hop and Tap, as well as stretching and body-control.The combination of new and old movement elements, as well as the focus on musicality, distinguish her dancing character. Her understanding and her love of Jazz and Lindy Hop came to her in a very natural way - her mother being a professional musician working as a drumer in a Jazzband, Ursula was surrounded by Jazz music and its powerful energy from morning until night. Maybe that explains her ease in playing with rhythms and integrating them again and again into her dancing. At STIR IT! 2010 she will be co-teaching with Dave Madison! |

... has been doing LindyHop for 12 years now and still loves it as much as when she started in 1997 in Chicago. She combines rock solid technique and connection with with highly creative interpretation and a sense of humor. She is able to effortlessly integrate her own ideas and style into the dance, which both complement her partner and serve as a creative catalyst for an exchange of ideas. This is one of the the many things that makes dancing with Evin so exciting and rewarding! Currently running Down South Swing company and coaching/choreographing for Tiny Bunch in Atlanta, Evin previously played an integral role in the Chicago dance scene, both as a member of several dance troupes and as the creator of Blue Moon Groove, an influential and highly popular dance instruction company. Evin has been fortunate enough to tour both the U.S. and Europe as a teacher, judge, and performer and has competed with her partner Andrew Twiss, placing 1st-5th at competitions such as LHS, NADC, and ALHC, before taking a break to begin her family.
