B - Beginners |
You’ve taken at least one or two Lindy Hop classes and moves such as Swing Out, Lindy Circle, Charleston and 6 count basics are part of your repertoire that you are able to lead or follow on the social dance floor. Your goal is it to acquire more moves for your repertoire, to improve your lead-follow skills and to learn more about musicality.
I - Intermediate |
You’ve been dancing for several months and besides the basic Lindy Hop repertoire you are starting to integrate fundamentals such as frame, lead-follow skills and musicality consciously into your dancing. You are able to social dance the moves you have learned comfortably at both slow and medium tempo and you can put the different elements together with flow. Your goal is it to expand your repertoire, bring musicality into your dancing, improve your technique and dance at faster tempos.
I/A - Intermediate-Advanced |
You’ve been dancing for several years and you have a solid base of Lindy Hop fundamentals. You social dance frequently and you have started to dance at faster tempos and to more challenging music. Frame, connection, lead-follow skills and musicality are not just theory to you but an inherent part of your dancing. Your goal is it to expand your repertoire, to work on your styling, your musicality and your quality of movement. You’re interested in new inputs to expand your dancing and to give it a new direction.
A - Advanced |
You’ve been dancing for more than five years, you have a solid base of Lindy hop fundamentals and you’ve got a large repertoire of moves and variations. Connection, frame and lead-follow skills are natural and reliable factors of your dancing. Dancing at a fast tempo is fun for you and demanding rhythms and music are a welcome challenge. You enjoy putting together your own variations of known moves and you’ve got your own styling. You’re interested in getting new inputs to develop your dancing personality further and to refine your technique yet more.

AE -Advanced Extra |
You fulfill all the requirements which are listed under "Advanced". In addition you're most probably already teaching Lindy Hop yourself and would like to deepen rather than widen your skills. Rather than learning many new moves you are looking for feedback to refine your teachnique yet more, to break up known structures and patterns and to widen your horizons. You're interested to find out how you can apply and combine what you already know in new ways. You're open to receiving direct and honest feedback. Last, but not least, you're looking forward to new material, which will enable you to extend your personal boundaries in regards to technique, rythmn and tempo.
ATTENTION: You are not able to apply for Advanced Extra! In the first day of STIR IT there will be an audition which will then divide the Intermediate-Advanced and the Advanced Level into Intermediate-Advanced, Advanced and Advanced Extra.
